Driving Lessons Gloucester- Campaign for Driving Safety around Horses.

A campaign has been started by the British Horse Society to encourage drivers to drive with care and consideration around horses, as there seems to be an increase in the number of accidents between horse riders and cars.
During the last five years over 2,000 of these incidents have occured, most commonly in June, and this led to the deaths of 181 horses and 36 riders.
The British Horse Society is aiming to make drivers aware of the need to drive no faster than 15mph around horses, be patient, avoid unnecessary noise such as revving and using the horn and to pass with at least a cars width, driving away slowly.
These suggestions on how to drive around horses seem obvious to most responsible drivers, but the statistics show that some drivers are not getting the message.
