A lady from Paignton, reapplied for a provisional driving licence, 10 years after failing her driving test, and received a full licence in the post from the DVLA.
Sarah Robertson gave up learning to drive after her unsuccessful driving test, but decided to get back to it, and having mislaid her original provisional, applied for a new provisional but received a full licence instead.
Ms Robertson applied for the licence online and answered an email to check her address, and replied to everything. She said, "But on Friday I got a full licence through the post, which was a bit of a shock. I went online to see if my name was actually on the database and it said I had passed my test on February 3rd, which I certainly hadn't."
Ms Robertson contacted the DVLA, she was told that someone with the same name and birthday had just passed their test, but the licence she had received, had her photo and signature on it.
Ms Robertson is still waiting for the DVLA to hear what will happen about her licence, but some people may not be as honest as her and would take advantage and be driving around without the proper skills.
