Congratulations to Savannah Stokes of Gloucester, who passed her driving test on February 22nd, 2019 in Gloucester, with her driving instructor, Jess Barker.

Apart from keeping up her high standards in normal driving, Savannah has been practising the higher speeds required sometimes on country lanes, as she was quite nervous on them at one time.

Her hard work has paid off with this tremendous driving test pass!

Driving Lessons Gloucester. - Driving Test Pass - Hollie McGuigan of Gloucester, 21st February 2019.

Driving Lessons Gloucester. - Customer Review - Gemma Lawson of Churchdown.

After a snowfall overnight, the area around Gloucester and Churchdown was snow covered to varying degrees.

This gave our students the chance to drive in snowy conditions with the help and assurance from our qualified driving instructors. Gemma Lawson of Churchdown had her first lesson in such conditions today, with the help of her driving instructor, Tom Lowe and this is what she had to say of the unusual experience:

“We had some snow overnight here and I was wondering if my  driving lesson would go ahead and was pleased when my instructor, Tom Lowe turned up as usual, so I had my driving lesson in snowy conditions today.”

Tom explained that the main roads were clear and that we would avoid any high ground and side roads that were still covered to minimise any skid risks. 

We agreed before the drive to be gentle in accelerating, braking and steering and to read the road to anticipate what other drivers were doing. 

He reminded me of the importance of the use of mirrors in these conditions and never to drive if the windows and lights were obscured by snow or ice and to keep a much larger distance from other vehicles.

I felt the experience really useful having learnt what to expect and to adapt my driving to the conditions on the road. It was a really valuable lesson.”

Is This A Record?

German police have reported that an 18 year old has recently managed to lose his driving licence just 49 minutes after passing his driving test!

He was on his way back from the test centre, when his car was checked with a laser speed gun and was found to be travelling at twice the speed limit, 60mph in a 30mph zone.

The German police officer wrote in his report that “some things last forever – others not for an hour.”

The police added that he had four friends in the car and suggested that he may have been trying to impress them with his driving skills.

The teenager has been formally banned for a month, but will only get his licence back after what police describe as “expensive retraining.” He has also been fined 200 euros, been awarded penalty points and a four year probationary period as a new driver.

Holding a full licence for 49 minutes is probably a record, unless anybody out there knows better!

Driving lessons Gloucester - Driving Test Pass - Laura of Gloucester - 1st November 2018.

A very special driving test pass for Laura of Gloucester, who achieved a perfect pass on November 1st, 2018, with her instructor, Sara Povey,scoring zero driving faults! This level of driving requires a lot of concentration and ability and must be recognised as something special. So, congratulations to Laura who did the hard work and to Sara who coached her so well.

Here’s what her instructor Sara had to say:

“Laura did amazingly, passing with an incredible zero driving faults and she got there because she understood that to be a good safe driver, all of the requirements for the test, in terms of what is regarded as a fault, takes discipline to implement.
